Carabiner Sizes
There are several decisions to make in ordering carabiners. First you will want to decide which size will work best for you. Depending on your budget, you may want to use a smaller size. Or for greater impact you can order our largest carabiners with an expanded engraving area to display your artwork. Additionally, you might want to accessorize your carabiners with an attachment like a strap, or medallion. You can check out all of the carabiner options here. There are many more product options that you may want to explore, but for the sake of this article we'll stick with carabiner keychains.
Carabiner Colors
Next decide which colors to order. Depending on your school colors, you may want to mix and match carabiner colors. We get a lot of requests for color combinations like purple/gold, blue/orange, red/silver, and so on. While there isn't an option on the product page to select more than one color, just leave a comment in the notes section or contact us directly to request multiple colors.
However, an important thing to keep in mind is that your artwork will be laser engraved into the carabiners. This means it will show as a silver-white against the color of the carabiner, as it exposes the aluminum beneath the anodized coloring. We do not do color printing onto carabiners because it can flake off over time. Engravings are a permanent way to display your message. In our estimation, this trade-off is well worth it. Besides lasting longer, laser engraving can achieve a level of detail that many color print methods cannot.
Customize The Artwork
Now the fun part is to create your design that will be laser engraved into the carabiners. For the small size carabiners it's usually best to stick with just text, as images such as a mascot or logo are often too small to discern any detail. So your school name or slogan would work best here, perhaps paired with a year or the particular event that you're celebrating, like homecoming or prom. On the larger carabiners there is enough engraving area that you can usually include a mascot or other image if desired. Single side or double side engraving is available.
