What Is Full Color Printing?
Full color printing involves using a range of basic ink colors that are combined to reproduce a full color spectrum. Usually in mass printing the ink combination is Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black (CMYK). Some printing processes include additional tertiary colors or specialty colors to achieve a specific look, effect, or blending range. For most cases, though, CMYK is diverse enough to effectively recreate a full range of color. Varying the size, spacing, and overlap of the dots tricks our eye into perceiving an expanded color range.
This is how we get a photographic level of image onto our keychains. Logos or images with limited color palettes tend to translate well to our engraved items and spot color printed products. For more complex photographs, like landscapes, faces, and other recognizable organic shapes we recommend a full color print for the best representation of the subject. Another benefit of full color printing is that it is easier to set up and produce which means lower prices.
